There’s something about a warm bowl of creamy oatmeal that can make a cold gloomy morning 1000 times better, don’t you think? I just can’t get enough of it these days. So about time I shared 2 of my favorite warm chia oatmeal recipes that I’ve been enjoying on repeat.

Chia Seed Nutrition

I love adding chia seeds to classic oatmeal to bump up the protein and healthy fat content. Did you know that just 1 ounce (about 2 tablespoons) of chia seeds contains 4.4 grams of protein, 5 grams of omega-3 fatty acid, and 10.6 grams of fiber? They’re also rich in minerals and vitamins such as manganese, phosphorus, calcium, iron, iodine, magnesium, niacin, vitamins A, B, E, and D. So a great way to boost the nutrients in your breakfast and start the day feeling energized.

Chia Oatmeal Flavors

I like to try different flavors, but vanilla and chocolate are my constant go-to’s. If you asked me a year ago to pick between vanilla and chocolate, I would say CHOCOLATE without hesitation! Lately, though, I’ve developed a serious affection for vanilla and have been using it more and more. I love both these recipes dearly and rotate between them to avoid getting bored.

For the vanilla oatmeal, I like to include a touch of cinnamon, which adds a subtle sweetness. Moreover, cinnamon is high in disease-fighting antioxidants, has strong anti-inflammatory health properties, and can help balance blood sugar levels.

For the chocolate version, I like to use my favorite chocolate superfood powder, Detox Organics*. It’s hard to believe that this delicious blend contains 25 different detoxifying and alkalizing ingredients such as dandelion, broccoli leaf, kale, spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass, ginger, and turmeric! These plants and superfoods help the body detoxify naturally, provide digestive support, and relieve bloating and constipation.

Are you a chocolate lover or vanilla fanatic? Which one of these recipes would you like to try first? Leave a comment below and let me know. Enjoy!
