These sesame cookie dough balls are such a great snack to have on hand when that sweet craving kicks in! Not only do they taste sweet and delicious, but they also make you feel full and satisfied, thanks to the delightful crunch from the oats and the healthy fats from the walnuts, sesame, and flax seeds. They are also a great travel companion as they take up little space and save you from eating junk at the airport or on the road.

These cookie dough balls also include tahini, which is a paste made out of ground sesame seeds. Sesame seeds are an excellent source of copper and a very good source of manganese, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, vitamin B1, zinc, molybdenum, selenium, and dietary fiber. The special group of fibers in sesame seeds called lignans have been shown to have a cholesterol-lowering effect in humans and to prevent high blood pressure and increase vitamin E supplies in animals (1).
