Chocolate Buckwheat Smoothie Bowls Recipe

Serves 2


  • 1 cup raw buckwheat groats
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 and 1/4 cups non-dairy milk of choice (almond, coconut, hemp, etc.)
  • 1/2 a large ripe banana (or 1 small)
  • 3-4 large dates, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter or tahini


  1. Cover buckwheat groats with warm water, add apple cider vinegar and let it soak for 7-24 hours or overnight on the counter
  2. Drain and fully rinse the buckwheat groats, add to the blender with the rest of ingredients and blend until soft and creamy. Top with coconut flakes, raw cacao nibs, tahini, fruits or other toppings of choice and enjoy!
